Rosemary (romero, romaní) is the star of the show, no doubt about it. Besides being the most abundant aromatic plant in the area and perhaps the most representative of the Mediterranean, it has the particular feature that is flowers almost all year round. It is hard for the intense smell of rosemary to not get into your nose during any of our walks, whether in winter, spring or summer. Its medicinal properties have been scientifically proven and its benefits to the human organism have been known since ancient Greece. Its scent, to go no further, improves the memory. Shakespeare put this in the mouth of Ophelia:
– “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance.”
Now we know that quite beyond popular wisdom, smelling essential oil made from rosemary can improve our memory capacity some 60-70%, according to a recent study by the University of Northumbria in Newcastle.
What is most important, however, is that its penetrating and tonifying aroma, with its unarguably simple elegance, makes for innumerable combinations (including a few extravagant ones) without it risking losing its powerful personality. This is why we have chosen it as the base for all our fragrances, and it is not by chance that it appears in our brand’s logo.
